Welcome to D&T. This subject is about designing, planning and manufacturing solutions to problems in the world around us.
In our lessons we will learn about the technologies and science that are behind the products we use everyday, and we will try to apply this knowledge to produce new products for tomorrows world. We will also develop the skills to enable us to make and test out our ideas, and share them with others.
Currently all students in Years 7,8 study in D&T for approximately 13 weeks of 3 periods a week, as part of a 3 subject rotation with other CT subjects over the year .
Year 9's have the opportunity to choose a CT subject which they study in greater depth for the whole year.
Students who study D&T at GCSE level in Years 10 & 11 study for 3 periods a week throughout both years.
